Why are you so passionate about playing sports?
Playing sports makes me feel happy and gives me an escape from everyday stress. Allowing me to create targets to focus on and achieve, in turn developing my skills as a player to achieve my target of representing Team GB.
What do you believe is the greatest challenge most athletes are facing today?
Personally, I believe every athlete has their own unique challenges but I feel like financial difficulties are a massive part of a lot of athletes' struggles which aren't necessarily talked about within the sporting community - this needs to change.

What is one important lesson you have learned from your time as a professional athlete?
Even when times are tough and you’re not feeling up for training or a game you must still get up and not let your tiredness phase you as every minute that you're on that court is slowly turning you into a better player which you will eventually be grateful for when you’ve achieved your goals.
What motivated you to become a sportsperson?
I wanted to make something of myself, and become someone who I can look back on my younger self one day and say ‘I'm proud of you for never giving up’. I’ve had quite a tough up-bringing so sport has allowed me to focus on myself, be proud of who I am and make me feel like I have a purpose. And to also create my own family within the sporting community which has made me a better person knowing there's people that care about me and will be there to support me through my achievements.
What inspires you to give your best every single day?
None of us know what tomorrow will bring, so trying your hardest today could bring great news tomorrow. Also knowing that if you keep pushing yourself you will only get better, so why not give your best? You’ve got nothing to lose.
