St Wilfrid's Residential: About Us

Kevin Bradley, Director of St Wilfrid’s Centre over 20 years (who has recently retired): “At St wilfrid’s Day Centre we help the homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded members of the society. The centre has a unique atmosphere. We have probably more services for “Clients” under one roof than any other daycentre in England. Everyone is welcomed regardless of disability, race, creed or culture. We really do seem to have found the secret of making people feel better.”

“OUR DREAM for many years has been to build a Residential Unit to work in conjunction with the Day Centre, People would live there for up to 2 years whilst attending classes at the day centre Monday to Friday. this would allow them to increase their chances of going back into today’s society….”

The aim is:
• To prevent Homelessness
• Increase Client’s chances for employment
• Grow Client’s Confidents & Self Esteem
• Improve Client’s Mental Health
• Cope to sustain Client’s Tenancy

St Wilfrid’s Residential Project was officially launched in March 2013 to raise £1.8million for a 50 bed Residential Home. In April 2014 they celebrated the £1 million mark through support from Sheffield and across the UK. and in 2017 the centre officially opened.
