2018 Wheelchair Basketball Challenge: Welcome

"This is a great opportunity to try wheelchair basketball and be coached by some of the most talented players in their sport. It will open up people's minds to the world of disability sport."                                                       Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson DBE

2018 Wheelchair Basketball Challenge: About

For the 3rd consecutive year Path to Success’s Wheelchair Basketball Challenge took place at the Iconic Copper Box in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on 25th September 2018 with the support of the London Titans Wheelchair Basketball Club. More than 100 people attended the tournament, as ten corporate teams took to the court. Team Molinare won the battle for the title of ‘Corporate Wheelchair Basketball Champion’.

Teams were coached by prominent Paralympians including Louise Sugden, Matt Sealy and Tyler Saunders, while Channel 4 reporter and Path to Success Patron Jordan Jarrett-Bryan compered the event. Captain Helen Freeman and Siobhan Fitzpatrick, stars of the Women’s GB Team who recently won silver medals at the World Championships, were also in attendance.

Meg Hillier, MP for Hackney South and Shoreditch spoke with the athletes and Anita Choudhrie (Founder) to learn more about disability sport support provided by Path to Success.

Funds raised in this event supported Path to Success’s Appeal “Empowering Women in Disability Sport on their Path to Tokyo 2020 & Beyond” and “London Titans Wheelchair Basketball Club”.

Our sincere thanks to eveyrone who supported this event: Shanti Hospitality C&CAlpha Group, Grace Belgravia, Molinare, Sage Housing, Heathrow Airport,  PHA-Media, Arc Management, May Fair London, Amira Foods, Sequoia London, Sutaka, Bhlive, Pulsin, trek, Nakd, Asian Voice, Eastern Eye, , London360, All in London.
